Licensing
Lists of Active Licensed Contractors
The following data files are lists of active licensed contractors. The information provided is current and correct to the best of our knowledge, for the information we have on file, at the time the files were created. These lists are generally updated weekly.
For additional resources about contractors check the
weekly posting lists and the
contractor inquiry pages.
The files listed below are grouped by license classifications. Individual license information is only available in the record layout below.
Within each license classification group there are 3 different file formats for downloading and viewing as follows:
- .ZIP - These files require the use of a separate utility to uncompress the files. We do not furnish any software or support for uncompressing files.
- .EXE - These files are self-extracting ZIP files which will uncompress when the file is opened or run.
- .XLS - These files are compatible with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software.
Notes for ZIP and EXE file extensions:
When uncompressed, the resulting text file (*.txt) will contain data in ASCII format, using commas to delimitate the fields containing the data for each record. See the table below for record layout. Also see the "Help on how to" link in the left margin for additional helpful step by step instructions for working with these ASCII format text files.
Notes for XLS file extensions:
Depending on your browser type and version and your version of Excel, you may be able to simply left-click on the desired .XLS file and select Open and the file will be loaded into an Excel Spreadsheet (This could take several minutes depending on the size of the file). Alternatively you may right-click on the file and select Save Target As which allows you to download the file to your computer to look at later. If you are having problems, you may want to download the file and save it with an extension of .html instead of .xls which will allow you to see the data in your browser instead of a spreadsheet.
One additional note regarding XLS files - the "Licno" field which contains the License Number of the contractor may not show leading 0's in the Excel spreadsheet. All license numbers are 6 characters in length, so you will need to add the missing zeroes.
Please Note: We do not provide application support for viewing or manipulating the data from these files. To view or use the contents of that resulting text file you will need to use a software application (such as a text editor, word processor, spreadsheet or database, depending upon your intended use for the information) that supports viewing or importing a file in ASCII text format.
Use of an anti-virus software application to check all downloads from any source is always recommended!
